2026 Firethorn Junior Golf Information

2026 Summer Pee Wee Golf (Ages 5-7)
*Must be entering Kindergarten Fall 2026 or older*

Overview:

All equipment will be provided (snag oversized plastic clubs, Velcro balls and targets). You can leave your golf clubs at home. Each week we will focus on learning and improving the basic fundamentals of golf- grip, stance, posture, alignment & rotation. Classes will be a mix of putting and full swing practice, as well as playing on a SNAG golf course set up on the driving range! Classes will be led by Director of Instruction, Steve Friesen, PGA.

Location: All classes will be at the Performance Center.

Dates: Monday’s: June 1, 8, 15, 22, 29.

Overview:

Practice days consist of 3 stations: Putting, Chipping and Full Swing. Focus will be on foundational fundamentals: grip, posture, ball position and swing path and rotation. Practice drills designed to reinforce the above fundamentals, along with games/competitions to keep the kids engaged. Play days consist of applying the skills learned in practice, out on the par 3 course (coach with every group). A low pressure, fun scramble format allowing kids to walk together and build friendships. Practice and Play Days will be led by Director of Instruction, Steve Friesen, PGA.

Practice Dates: Wednesday’s: June 3, 10, 17, 24, July 1.

Play Dates: Wednesday’s: July 8, 15.

2026 Firethorn Fireballs PGA Jr League Team
*Must be 8-13 yrs old as of July 31, 2026*

Overview:

The Fireballs PGA Jr League Team provides a low-pressure, fun entry into competitive golf. Practices will focus on using drills and competition. Drills specifically designed to build strong fundamentals: Alignment, posture, rotation, contact. Contests designed to reinforce skills learning in practice, while keeping the kids engaged and focused.

All Fireballs will play 4 tournaments (2 Fireball vs. Fireball; 2 Fireballs vs. another team). Top 16 available players will also play 4 tournaments against the other Lincoln country clubs. Also end of season playoffs. All competition is a 2-person scramble format.

Requirements/Eligibility:

· 2025 Fireballs PGA Jr League members are automatically eligible to sign up for 2026 Team. No qualifying is necessary

· Players not on the 2025 Fireballs Team must Sign-up and participate in the Spring Skills Combine in Spring. Minimum level of ability/maturity will be demonstrated at the Spring Skills Combine to join the team.

· Max. of 58 players for 2026.

Cost: $900 (PGA Jr League sign up is an additional cost) 

16 player Fireball tournaments and the playoffs will be an additional cost of $15/tournament.

Practice and Tournament Schedule: TBD

April and May practices will be used to determine the Summer Travel Team Roster for the summer tournaments where Firethorn is restricted to 16 players or less.

April-August (Spring and Summer combined into 1 program for 2026).
